The Texas Senate recently approved two bills that would have helped the state's horse racing industry. However, according to a report published in the Houston Chronicle, the House has shown no urgency in acting before the state legislature adjourns on Monday.

Mike Lavigne, a spokesman for Texas racing interests, said he anticipates no House action prior to adjournment.
