S-Quarter K LLC’s Ima Fearless Hero, the sport's champion 2-year-old gelding in 2015, was laid to rest on Wednesday following complications with ringbone.

A half-brother to 2015 world champion Heza Dasha Fire, Ima Fearless Hero won eight of 17 starts and earned $1,062,435 while racing exclusively at Los Alamitos. The son of Valiant Hero and Dasha Freda, Ima Fearless Hero won six of eight starts including the Los Alamitos Two-Million (G1) and PCQHRA Breeders' (G2) futurities, during his championship season.

Jose Flores trained Ima Fearless Hero and Cruz Mendez rode the gelding in 16 of his 17 races.

"He was a special horse," said Don Meneely, who with his wife, Kathy, and son Shawn operate S-Quarter K LLC. "He always ran with a lot of heart. He was also extremely fast. He was a tremendous race horse.”
