KVN Corona creeps up racing poll.

After another weekend of limited stakes action in American Quarter Horse racing, the only notable change in the AQHA Racing National Polls was the movement of KVN Corona from sixth to a tie for fourth in the 2-year-old rankings. The son of Corona Cartel posted the fastest time on Sunday in the trials for the $400,000 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos while winning for the fourth time in as many starts. The final for that race is set for October 7.

Fly Baby Fly maintained her spot at the top of the juvenile poll for the third straight week after winning the $3-million All American Futurity (G1) on Labor Day at Ruidoso Downs.

In the poll for older horses, All American Derby (G1) winner Hold Air Hostage remained a near-unanimous choice for No. 1 with nine of 10 possible first-place votes. No. 2-ranked Jessies First Down, who received the other first-place vote, is expected to run this Sunday in the $250,000 Albuquerque Fall Championship at Albuquerque Downs. A victory in that race would earn the reigning world champion a berth in the $750,000 Champion of Champions (G1) at Los Alamitos.
