Evangeline Downs Quarter Horse Meet Opens October 4

Evangeline Downs will open its 46-day fall Quarter Horse meet on October 4.
Live racing will be conducted primarily on a Wednesday-through-Saturday schedule, with two additional days of racing on Monday, December 18, and Tuesday, December 19.
Evangeline Downs' richest night of racing, December 16, will feature four stakes, topped by the 400-yard, $1-million Louisiana Million Futurity (RG1) for state-bred 2-year-olds. Click here for a complete stakes schedule.
Evangeline Downs' 2016 leading jockey, David Alvarez, and trainer, Orlando Orozco, will be returning to defend their titles. Alvarez won the 2016 riding title with 41 wins, while Orozco topped last season's trainer standings with 19 victories.
Evangeline's meet runs through December 19. First post time will be set for 5:35 p.m. (Central), with the exception of December 18 and 19. First post time on those dates will be 3:15.
