The new receiving barn at Ruidoso Downs is nearing completion.

The receiving barn is on the barn-area side of the tunnel that goes from the stable area to the infield and the saddling paddock. Horses will arrive at the receiving barn about 45 minutes before they race, and they will be under an official’s watchful eye.

This is part of the increased security and dedication to racing integrity at Ruidoso Downs. The season starts on May 25 with the first of two days of 350-yard trials to the Grade 1, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity.
