Future of Idaho Racing Featured in Local Media

The state's industry hopes to place historical racing initiative on the ballot.

Save Idaho Horse Racing has until April 30 to place a historical racing initiative on the ballot.

Only a couple of weeks remain but that means there is still hope for Idaho horse breeders and racing enthusiasts. The racing industry in Idaho is marshaling its forces to see if it can take its argument to restore some of its historic support directly to the electorate this fall.

Save Idaho Horse Racing is the collective identifier for several different horse racing entities who have banned together to launch a signature petition drive that has until April 30 to reach its goal. The supporters must gather over 56,000 signatures. Though petitions have been around the state since February, they are still shy of their goal.
