Louisiana Downs QH Meet Opens Saturday

Louisiana Downs opens its 2018 Quarter Horse meet on Saturday.

Louisiana Downs will open its 46-day winter Quarter Horse season with a seven-race program on Saturday. Post time for the first race is set for 1 p.m. (CST).

Louisiana Downs' stakes schedule features 11 official stakes, topped by the 300-yard, $225,000-est. Harrah's Futurity (G3) on March 21. The track's other major stakes include the 300-yard, $275,000-est. Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) for Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds, and the 400-yard, $100,000-est. Mardi Gras Derby (R) for state-bred 3-year-olds, both of which are scheduled for March 17.

Louisiana Downs will offer live racing primarily on a Saturday-through-Tuesday schedule through closing day, March 21. Post time every race day will be 1 p.m.
