“I’ve been overwhelmed with the generosity from the horsemen’s community to see this nearly 10-month project happen,” said chaplain Darrell Winter. “We are watching God move hearts to join in this ministry and (are) reminded why this ministry exists.”

"The ministry is a caregiver to both the spiritual and physical needs of our community of workers," he added.

The chapel building is divided equally between kids’ program facilities, meal fellowships and a place of worship that seats nearly 300 people. One unique feature is a prayer room that will be open 24 hours, 365 days a year.

The kid’s ministry includes a computer room, a library, a Bible lesson area, crafts area and a breakfast area. There is also an outside play area.

Winter said that when this project started the guiding verse was, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Psalms 127:1

Now that the project arrives at completion, Winter says that God has fulfilled the verse through a community of support.

Winter’s theme for the opening day message is: “But who I am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicle 29:14
