Yavapai Downs Expected to Race Again Next Year

Yavapai Downs at Prescott Valley, Arizona, is expected to reopen for live racing in 2019.

The Arizona Racing Commission at its May 10 meeting unanimously approved a three-year temporary permit for Yavapai Downs' new ownership group, paving the way for horse racing in 2019.

Simulcast wagering at Yavapai Downs could begin as early as July of this year to build purses for the live season, which would be the first live race meet at the track since 2010.
