World of Rodeo Reunion

Racing women to be honored at World of Rodeo Reunion.

Racing women, including Janet VanBebber, are scheduled to be honored at World of Rodeo Reunion.

A number of women deeply involved in the racing American Quarter Horse industry are among a group being honored during the Wrangler World of Rodeo Reunion and Gold Card Gathering, to be held December 13-14.

This event will celebrate famous women of pro rodeo, the horse industry and the West. It will be held at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas.

Among those being honored at the event, which includes receiving a medallion necklace custom designed by Montana Silversmiths, are AQHA Chief Racing Officer Janet VanBebber, Debbie Schauf, Donna McArthur, Robyne Draper, Bonnie Vessels, Jo Burns and Shirley Schvaneveldt.

“Where would pro rodeo and the horse industry be today without these ladies?” says World of Rodeo Reunion.

During the event, there will be a conference and symposium that will cover Pro Rodeo, racing and hall/museum topics.

VanBebber will be overseeing the panel discussion, whose list of invitees include such experts as Jeff True, president and general manager of Ruidoso Downs; Schauf, the executive director of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association; Paul Jones, the sport’s all-time leading trainer; and Mark Brown, the AQHA Racing Commission Chairman.
