Jay Pumphrey Cowboy Classic

 

Since 1980, AQHA Racing has hosted the annual Jay Pumphrey Cowboy Classic Golf Tournament, which coincides with All American week and the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale at Ruidoso Downs. 

The Jay Pumphrey Cowboy Classic Invitational is for: American Quarter Horse breeders, owners, trainers and jockeys; AQHA members; members or guests of the Pumphrey family; invitees. It is intended to promote fellowship among American Quarter Horse racing enthusiasts. This tournament is a great way to get new people involved in the industry. If you have friends or business associates you'd like to introduce to American Quarter Horse racing, please invite them to play.  

The 2018 tournament will take place Wednesday, August 29 at the Links at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Men and women play separately. Your entry fee includes green fee, cart, range balls and an invitation to the post-tourney awards dinner and auction, underwritten by Reed Beverage.

Following the golf tournament there will be an awards dinner and auction at the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack, beginning at 7 p.m. August 29th, come join us for dinner, an awards ceremony, live music, and live and silent auctions!

The dinner is graciously underwritten by Reed Beverage and hosted by Ruidoso Downs Racetrack.  You won’t want to miss a fun filled evening benefitting the Jay Pumphrey Animal Sciences Scholarship Fund.

Each golfer is allowed to bring one guest to the dinner, and additional guests may purchase tickets.
