RACE RECORD: Tied with Mr Secret Glory and Hawkeye as the most lightly raced horse in the All American finals, Believe Me Irene has made three starts. In her career debut, she ran third in her non-qualifying Ruidoso Futurity (G1) trial. She then traveled to Albuquerque to finish a close second in a maiden before finishing second, a length back, in Shakem Bye Perry’s qualifying All American trial.
BREEDER: Hollis and Elena Crim’s H & E Ranch has bred only 106 horses and 66 race starters in its 30-year history, but has produced such quality runners as The Streakin Clean ($94,982) and Heza Royal Jess ($63,529). The Scottsdale, Arizona, entity has produced the earners of $644,126.
OWNER: Julieta Nexy Torres’ Diamond Racing Stables is based out of El Paso, and since 2013, has raced the earners of more than $300,000, including stakes horses JM Disco Rey and SLR Jessies Girl.
TRAINER: Young trainer Shae Cox has since 2007 trained the earners of more than $1.5 million. The 29-year-old has been involved in racing her whole life – her grandfather had Thoroughbreds and her mother had Quarter Horses – and Cox has already trained graded stakes winners Eyesa Jumpn, Suenos Dineros, Miss Kips Streakin, JM Apollo, Play Misty Forme, Hez First Prize and Streakin Patch.
QUALIFYING JOCKEY: Jose Luis Enriquez has won 173 races in 1,174 starts since he started riding in 2014. He has earned just shy of $3 million, including a victory in the West Texas Futurity (G2) with Suenos Dineros earlier this year.
