RACE RECORD: The lightly raced Mr Secret Glory, who like Believe Me Irene and Hawkeye, enter the All American off only three starts, qualified to the race in the final trial on the first day. The gray gelding won by a head and nipped the :21.854 qualifying time. He raced in non-qualifying efforts in the Ruidoso and Rainbow trials, in which he was first and third respectively.

OWNER/BREEDER: The horse races for breeder Johnny Trotter, an AQHA past president who also raced this horse’s sire and dam. Trotter is the CEO of of Livestock Investors LLT and owns Bar G Feedyard. His involvement in the American Quarter Horse industry is focused on racing, roping and horses used for ranch work and breeding. He is an avid team roper and a member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. He also owns All American Derby qualifier One Sweet Racy.

TRAINER: Trainer Trey Wood continues the family tradition of training winning horses. Since 2006, he has saddled the earners of more than $13.8 million, including 13 Grade 1 wins. Earlier this year, he trained Tough To Bee to co-win the Ruidoso Derby (G1) and Bodacious Eagle to win the Leo Stakes (G1).

QUALIFYING JOCKEY: Champion jockey Ricky Ramirez has ridden the earners of more than $27.2 million, but is still seeking his first All American Futurity victory. In 2011, he was second on Jess Send Me; in 2014, he rode Sam Crow to a third-place finish in the race; and in 2013, he was fourth on Especially Tres.

PEDIGREE: A son of First Down Dash, Hez Our Secret was bred by leading breeder Vessels Stallion Farm and, in his racing career, collected $887,426 and was the sport’s champion 3-year-old colt in 2012. The freshman sire will try to repeat the trick that another Trotter horse accomplished: champion One Famous Eagle sired an All American winner in his freshman season when One Dashing Eagle won the race. Hez Our Secret is now owned by Trotter in partnership with Reliance Ranches LLC.

Dam Eye Of Glory is a daughter of Mr Eye Opener whom Trotter bought as a yearling and raced to a Grade 1-placed career in which she earned $177,830. She is the dam of stakes horses including Bay Eagle Glory (by One Famous Eagle, $223,553) and Jess Glory (by Mr Jess Perry, $49,514).
