Jess Cruzin On By is Fastest NM Cup Futurity Qualifier

The homebred Jesse James Jr colt posted the fastest qualifying time to the November 1, $300,000-est. final at Zia Park.

Jess Cruzin On By, a homebred son of Jesse James Jr racing for Yaneth Cabrera, won the last of six New Mexico Cup Futurity (RG1) trials at Zia Park on Saturday, and the sorrel colt is the fastest qualifier to the $300,000-est. final on November 1.

Ridden by Adrian Ramos for trainer Juan M. Gonzalez, Jess Cruzin On By went 400 yards in :19.486 while defeating second-fastest qualifier Frank N Jesse by a neck. The colt has banked $147,908 from five starts, and his four wins include a three-quarter length victory in the 300-yard, $229,880 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) at Sunland Park in April.

Frank N Jesse is a gelded son of Jesse James Jr trained by Greg Green for owners Renee Carter and Jaye Huseman. Frank N Jesse has earned $18,860 from three outs.
