Zoomin Effortlessly Earns First Grade 1 Win in Refrigerator Handicap

The 4-year-old gelding scores a half-length victory at Lone Star Park.

Telesforo Perrett’s Zoomin Effortlessly scored his first Grade 1 victory in Saturday’s 440-yard, $75,000 Refrigerator Handicap (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Saddled by Edelmiro Carrizales and ridden by Santos Carrizales, Zoomin Effortlessly made his quarter-mile trip in :21.312. The half-length win extended the 4-year-old gelding’s current win streak to five, and the $42,750 winner’s share of the purse increased his earnings to $123,401.

Zoomin Effortlessly was making his first start since August 7, when he won the Live Oak Stakes at Retama Park. The gelding was bred in Texas by Tommy R. Charbula and his sire, Zoomin For Bux, is an 11-year-old son of Shazoom who won the 2006 Retama Park Futurity (G1).

Raced in Texas and Louisiana, Zoomin Effortlessly has won 11 of 18 races, including four stakes.
Moonin The Eagle ran second and was followed by Mr Jo Eagle, Jody Pops Zoomer, Charvet, 9-5 favorite Dashin Brown Streak, Rockin Disco, Sleepers Best Corona, and Jessies First Down.
