Nucky Tops Dash For Cash Futurity Trials

Undefeated gelding fastest to Lone Star stakes.

Nucky topped the Dash For Cash Futurity trials.

Nucky, a gelded son of freshman sire Dominyun racing for Denis and Julie Schoenhofer and Dale Taylor, is the fastest qualifier to the October 10, $498,350 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Racing in the 10th of 14 trials on Saturday, Nucky covered 400 yards in :19.619 while defeating The Next Good Reason by three lengths. Salvador Martinez rode the gelding for trainer Kalah Welch.

Nucky was bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox. The gelding has won all five of his outs, including the April 12, $198,924 West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park, and he has earned $106,094.

Double A Ranch’s She Looks Racy, the second-fastest qualifier, won the 12th heat by one length from fourth-fastest qualifier JS Abel Dasher. Manuel Gutierrez rode the sorrel daughter of all-time leading sire First Down Dash for trainer Jorge Gonzalez.
