A sharp break from his rail post helped Mixed Fantasy score a wire-to-wire victory in Thursday's 870-yard, $51,870 Pauls Valley Stakes (G3) at Remington Park.

Ridden by Daniel Torres, Mixed Fantasy reached the finish line in :44.835 and earned a 104 speed index while defeating Youvebeenhenried by three-quarters of a length. Kenny Laymon prepped the 6-year-old son of Okey Dokey Fantasy for owner JK Running Horses LLC of Neosho Falls, Kansas.

"I just wanted to get in front, especially with (CR Tuckernuck) right next to us," said Torres, referring to the odds-on favorite who ended his 2015 season with a three-race win streak that included a Grade 1 win. "I thought if we could get out in front that we would be in a good spot."

Mixed Fantasy was bred in Alabama by Carl and Luanne Humphries. The gelding has won 12 of 35 starts, including five stakes, and the $29,946 winner's share of the Pauls Valley purse bumped his bankroll to $214,554.

CR Tuckernuck finished third, 2 3/4 lengths behind Mixed Fantasy. Cjs Rocksolid, Painted Josy, and Wicked Valentine completed the order of finish.
