Teller Baja Tops First Night of Remington Park Futurity Trials

The homebred daughter of Teller Cartel won the first of 12 trials on Friday.

Teller Baja, a homebred Tellerr Cartel filly owned by Juan A. Medina of Zapata, Texas, topped the first night of Remington Park Futurity (RG2) trials on Friday.

Ridden by Agustin Silva for trainer R.L. "Rick" Robinson, Teller Baja won the first of 12 330-yard trials by 1 1/4 lengths in :16.597. The filly earned a 96 speed index while posting her second victory in as many starts.

Teller Baja made her debut with a half-length win in a 250-yard maiden special weight dash on March 18. The filly has banked $20,578.

The second night of Remington Park Futurity trials takes place tonight. Post time for the first of 12 races is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
