Dashin Swinger is Fastest Lassie Futurity Qualifier

The Swingin Jess filly won the last of 14 330-yard trials Friday at Delta Downs

Dashin Swinger, a daughter of Swingin Jess trained by Erasmo Hernandez for owners Jesus Cervantes and Antonio Fierro, won the last of 14 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs on Friday and is the fastest qualifier to the May 20 final.

Under jockey Juan D. Marquez, Dashin Swinger went 330 yards in :17.002, and her winning margin was a half of a length from 10th-fastest qualifier Im La Leaving.

Dashin Swinger was bred by Triple M Farms LLC. The filly was making her career debut in Friday's trial.

This year's Louisiana Breeders' Futurity will offer a stakes-record $298,012, and the winner will earn $149,006. Click here for a complete list of qualifiers.
