Twelve 350-yard LQHBA Sale Futurity trials were conducted Wednesday at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

One Hot Flame, a gelded son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Fast Prize Dash racing for Double H Racing Investments LLC, is the fastest qualifier to the September 3, $323,488 Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

Trained by Adrian Huitron, who gave a leg up to jockey Manuel Gutierrez, One Hot Flame defeated second-fastest qualifier TF Racee Runaway by a head in the ninth of 12 trials on Wednesday, opening day of Fair Grounds' summer Quarter Horse meet. The gelding covered 350 yards in :17.580 while scoring his third win in four outs.

One Hot Flame was bred by Margie Loup and was a $10,500 yearling purchase. He was coming off of a victory in the July 9 Louisiana Juvenile Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

TF Racee Runaway is conditioned by Lanny Keith for owner Tate Farms. John Hamilton rode the Sir Runaway Dash gelding on Wednesday.

Third-fastest qualifier Rdd Lajollanfastdash, a graded stakes winning Heza Fast Dash gelding trained by Jose Sanchez for owner Miguel A. Aguilar, won the eighth heat by one length under jockey Raul Ramirez Jr. Rdd Lajollanfastdash has won four of five starts, including the March 20, 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

The LQHBA Sale Futurity is restricted to 2-year-olds who passed through the ring in last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale in Kinder. Click here for a complete list of finalists.
