Fastest qualifier Moonin The Eagle earned his second career stakes win in Sunday's 440-yard, $204,310 Hialeah Maturity for 4-year-olds at Hialeah Park.

Under jockey Ricky Ramirez and aided by a 16-mph tail wind, Moonin The Eagle covered his quarter-mile trip in :21.201 and posted a 105 speed index while defeating sixth-fastest qualifier TF Cajun Cartel by three-quarters of a length. Rolando Almanza saddled the gray stallion for owner Gregorio Garcia Garza.

Moonin The Eagle was bred by Vessels Stallion Farm of Bonsall, California. The stallion is a son of 2008 champion 3-year-old colt One Famous Eagle and Your First Moon, a multiple graded stakes winning daughter of all-time leading sire and 1987 world champion First Down Dash.

Moonin The Eagle was coming off of a half-length victory in the last of four Hialeah Maturity trials on December 26. A $45,000 buy at the 2013 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the stallion has won five of 12 starts, including last year's $200,125 South Florida Derby at Hialeah, and he has earned $309,363.

RC Me Leaving You finished third, 1 1/4 lengths behind Moonin The Eagle. Rattle N Battle, Yurman, Premier Ethics, De Mille, Mavara Vegas, Seize The Win, and A Royal Fling completed the order of finish.
