Jesus Huitron's Platinum Fdd, the second-fastest qualifier, was a prompt 3-2 favorite in Saturday's 350-yard Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs.

Ridden by Damian Martinez for trainer Adrian Huitron and racing on a sealed surface officially labeled "good", Platinum Fdd defeated 16-1 longshot Cartel Diamond by three-quarters of a length in :17.584. The gelded son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash has won his last three outs, including one of six Firecracker trials on June 11.

Platinum Fdd was bred in Texas by Huitron and Vessels Stallion Farm. His dam, Eyesa Jumpn, is a multiple graded stakes winning 11-year-old daughter of champion Eyesa Special. The gelding's second dam, the stakes-winning Holland Ease mare Jump Jive An Wail, was a finalist in the 2001 Rainbow Futurity (G1) and '02 Rainbow Derby (G1).

All told, Platinum Fdd has won four of his five races, and the $135,975 winner's share of the $271,950 Firecracker Futurity purse bumped his earnings to $149,525.

Jen And Vodka ran third, three-quarters of a length behind Platinum Fdd. Bluesville, Jess Cruzin The Mall, Leaveafamousmemory, Sizzlin Stewart, fastest qualifier Marfilous, Roostersito, and Dash For A Lil Cash completed the order of finish.
