Fervents Dynasty, a daughter of champion Fdd Dynasty racing for Bruce and Jill Thompson, is the fastest qualifier to the July 30, $200,000 Governor's Cup Derby (RG3) at Los Alamitos.

Prepped by Juan Aleman and ridden by Minor Arana, Fervents Dynasty won the last of three trials in :19.917. The California-bred filly has won two of her three outs this year, including a maiden-special-weight dash in her season debut on April 23.

"She stumbled slightly at the start, but she recovered fast and finished strong," said Arana, a native of Guatemala who began riding in 2014.

Martha Wells' Chicks Fayvorite posted the second-fastest qualifying time. Ridden by  Oscar Peinado for trainer Paul Jones, the homebred Favorite Cartel gelding won his trial by a neck in :19.988.

"This is Forrest Fire's half brother," Wells said. "Chicks Fayvorite looks a lot like his mom (Chicks Tell), and I can see a lot of Forrest in there."
