Ricardo Barrera's One Sweet Picky is the fastest qualifier to the July 30, $443,050 TQHA Sale Futurity at Retama Park.

One Sweet Picky, a daughter of One Sweet Jess racing for Ricardo Barrera, broke her maiden with a 1 1/4-length victory in the first of nine TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) trials at Retama Park on Friday.

Ridden by Isaac Chapa for trainer Rodolfo Sanchez, One Sweet Picky went 350 yards in :17.947 and recorded the fastest qualifying time for the July 30, $443,050 final.

One Sweet Jess was bred by Gus Barakis' Scarlett Hill Farm at Weatherford, Texas. The filly's dam, Sticky N Picky, is a winnng and graded stakes placed daughter of the Easy Jet stallion Sticks An Stones.

Second-fastest qualifier Courageous Flight, also trained by Sanchez for Barrera, made his debut with a wire-to-wire, 1 1/2-length victory in the fourth heat. The Captain Courage colt was ridden by Luciano Duenez and made his 350-yard trip in :18.000.

Courageous Flight was acquired from breeder Margie McMullen for $6,700 at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale.
