Bobby D. Cox's Jessa Louisiana Zoom earned the first victory of her sophomore season in Friday's 400-yard Delta Downs Derby (RG3) trials for Louisiana-breds.

Ridden by Donald Watson for trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr., Jessa Louisiana Zoom won the third of four heats by three-quarters of a length in :19.618. The brown daughter of champion Jessa Louisiana Blue earned the fastest qualifying time to the $244,430 final on July 9, closing night of Delta Downs' Quarter Horse meet.

Jessa Louisiana Zoom was bred by Lyle Guillory. The filly, who sold for $22,000 buy at the 2014 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders' Association Yearling Sale, has banked $533,553 from eight outs, and her five wins include last year's Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity (RG1) and Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2), both at Delta Downs.
