Jet Black Patriot Filly Tops Harrah's Futurity Qualifiers

Valid Expectations, a homebred daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Jet Black Patriot, is the fastest qualifier to the March 23 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity at Louisiana Downs.

Ridden by Donald Watson in the fourth of nine 300-yard trials on Tuesday, Valid Expectations defeated non-qualifier Come On Paul by 3 3/4 lengths in :15.414. Kenneth Roberts Sr. prepped the filly for owner Mercy Hinklin's Horse Farm LLC.

Second-fastest qualifier Ardor, a brown colt by Ivory James trained by Jorge Luis Barrera for owner JF Racing & Farm LLC, won the third heat by 3 1/4 lengths at odds of 32-1. Luis Vivanco rode Ardor, who sold for $22,000 at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.
