Datona Doll Sets Fastest Heritage Derby Trial Time
The filly remained undefeated with her three-quarter of a length victory Sunday at Remington Park.

Datona Doll won the third of seven 400-yard Heritage Place Derby (G1) trials at Remington Park on Sunday, and the New Mexico-bred daughter of Jesse James Jr is the fastest qualifier to the June 4, $100,000-added final.
Ridden by Ricky Ramirez, Datona Doll defeated Satcha Wagoneer by three-quarters of a length in :19.575. The filly was making her first start since May 29, 2015, when she scored a victory in a 350-yard Mountain Top Futurity (RG3) trial at Ruidoso Downs.
Datona Doll was bred by Benny and Donna Smith. The filly has won all three of her outs and has banked $15,590.
Gyr Jammer, the second-fastest qualifier, won the first heat by 1 3/4 lengths in :19.686. Raul Ramirez Jr. rode the gelded son of Apollitical Jess for owner Rosa Aguado and trainer Daniel Luna.
Gyr Jammer was bred in Oklahoma and Jim and Marilyn Helzer. The Grade 3-placed gelding has won three of his eight races and has earned $35,434, of which $28,894 has been pocketed this season.
