PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC’s champion Jess Good Candy worked 220 yards from a flat-footed start in :11.06 while facing a stiff headwind Monday morning at Ruidoso Downs.

Clockers said it was an easy work and he was well in hand.

Jess Good Candy is expected to start in the 400-yard trials for the Grade 1, $1 million (est.) Ruidoso Derby on May 29. Trained by Clint Crawford, Jess Good Candy prepared for his summer derby campaign with a win in the Mr Master Bug Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park on April 24. He has won all five of his outs.

Jess Good Candy earned 2015 champion two-year-old honors with four wins, capped by a neck win in the Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity. The large, powerful colt has earned $1,561,078 with $1,500,000 of that total coming from his All American Futurity score.

The ultimate goal this summer for Jess Good Candy is the Grade 1, $2.5 million-est. All American Derby on Labor Day weekend.
