Rdd Lajollanfastdash won Saturday's LQHBA Sale Futurity at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.

Third-fastest qualifier Rdd Lajollanfastdash sprinted to his second career stakes win in Saturday's Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds.

Under jockey Raul Ramirez Jr. and sent to post as the 2-1 second choice in the field of 10, Rdd Lajollanfastdash covered 350 yards in :17.461 while defeating 11-1 longshot Jlm Shakem Tee Cos by a nose. Jose Sanchez prepped the gray son of Heza Fast Dash for owner Miguel A. Aguilar.

The $129,396 winner's share of the $323,488 purse -- the richest of the 10-day Fair Grounds summer Quarter Horse meet -- bumped Rdd Lajollanfastdash's earnings to $286,477. The gelding was coming off of a clear one-length victory in one of 12 trials on August 17.

Rdd Lajollanfastdash has won five of his starts, including the 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs in March. His only loss came in the July 9 Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs, when he finished last in a 10-horse field.

"He just dug in and ran such a great race," said Ramirez. "(Jlm Shakem Tee Cos) had us by three-quarters of a length (early), but we still came out ahead.

"His only loss came in the Lee Berwick, but that's just racing," added the rider. "I knew he would come back strong."

Aguilar purchased Rdd Lajollanfastdash from breeder Richard Dale Domingue for $10,000 at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale.

One Hot Flame, the fastest qualifier and 7-5 favorite, ran third and was followed by Tf Racee Runaway, Tf Ms Perrys Runaway, Gone Swingin, Tellem Im Pumped, Lightemupwithcharm, Msm Runaway Dash, and Fired Up Perry.
