Field Set for Grade 3, $235,600 Dash For Cash Derby

Double H Racing Investment's Politically Corrupt is the fastest qualifier to the October 8, $235,600 Dash For Cash Derby (G3) at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by Manuel Gutierrez for trainer Jose Sanchez, Politically Corrupt won the fourth of eight trials by two lengths on Friday. The gelded son of Apollitical Jess covered 440 yards in :21.608 for his sixth win in 13 outs.

Politically Corrupt was bred in Texas by Andrew M. Gardiner. The sorrel gelding has banked $97,918, and he was coming off of a Retama Park summer meet during which he won the 400-yard, $175,700 Retama Park Derby (G3).

Gutierrez also rode second-fastest qualifier TLC Dale to a neck victory in his Dash For Cash Derby trial. The gelded son of The Louisiana Cartel is trained by Adrian Huitron for owner Rogelio Garza Guajardo.
