Duke Racing LLC's Fantastic Six Pack, a homebred son of Fantastic Corona Jr, scored his second career stakes victory in Saturday's $113,400 Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes (R) for state-bred sophomores at Indiana Grand.

Prepped by Matt Frazier, Fantastic Six Pack covered 400 yards in :19.819 under jockey Shanley Jackson. The gelding's winning margin was three-quarters of a length from runner-up Beach Bum Eddie.

"We were hoping for a little better break," said Frazier of Fantastic Six Pack's start. "He stumbled a little coming out of the gate, and that cost us a few strides.

"After 200 yards, he hits a gear that most cannot, and he made up that ground," the trainer added. "He just gets more professional and better every time he runs."

The fastest qualifier, Fantastic Six Pack was coming off of a neck victory in the last of two trials on September 10. He has won six of 10 outs, including the July 30 Blue River Derby (R) for state-bred 3-year-olds, and he has banked $191,775, of which $138,225 has been earned this season.

"His next start is undecided; that's up to the Dukes," Frazier said. "We might start him one more time this year, but he's Indiana-bred and we want to keep him sound and happy for next year."

Wh Kenny G ran third and was followed by Megatron Harry, Marantha Is Coming, Euro Blazin, Coco Beach, James Del Rey, Mister Swagger James, and Hf Paint Me A Storm.
