A sharp break from his rail post helped Apollitical Ok score a wire-to-wire victory in the $50,000 Mr Jet Moore Stakes (G2) at Ruidoso Downs on Saturday.

Ridden by Esgar Ramirez and sent to post at odds of 5-1, Apollitical Ok covered 400 yards in :19.868 while defeating 6-5 favorite Sam Crow by a half of a length. Joel Valeriano Jr. trained the 4-year-old son of world champion Apollitical Jess for owners J. Oscar Dominguez and Joel Martinez.

"I was really confident, and he finished well," said Ramirez of Apollitical Ok's trip. "He's been training really well the last few weeks."

Apollitical Ok was stretching out in distance off of his runner-up placing in the 350-yard, $50,000 Higheasterjet Handicap (G3) on July 1, a race that involved a double disqualification. The gelding was bred in Oklahoma by James and Marilyn Helzer, and he has won four of 22 starts. The $30,000 winner's share of the Mr Jet Moore purse increased Apollitical Ok's earnings to $238,254.

Ramirez said that Apollitical Ok would be pointed to the 440-yard, $200,000 All American Gold Cup Stakes (G1) on Labor Day weekend.

Docs First Fire, First Valiant Sign, Tf Im That Guy, Phoebesdynasty, Memphis D Nasty, and Stevie B First Cash completed the order of finish.
