Second Down Leaving Tops LQHBA Sale Futurity Trials

Second Down Leaving, a Coronas Leaving You colt owned by Eulalio Argote and Victor Alvarado, is the fastest qualifier to the September 9, $297,220 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

Racing in the third of 10 350-yard trials on Friday, opening day of Fair Grounds' summer Quarter Horse meet, Coronas Leaving You defeated eighth-fastest qualifier Jrs Natural Runaway by a neck in :17.393. Manuel Gutierrez rode the colt for trainer Javier N. Contreras.

Second Down Leaving was bred in Louisiana by Grant Farm LLC. A $26,000 purchase at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale, he has won all three of his outs, including the July 8 Louisiana Juvenile Stakes (R) at Delta Downs, and he has earned $44,400.

Ten To Win LLC's Yumyumcomegetyousome, the second-fastest qualifier, won the fourth heat by a neck in :17.430. John Hamilton rode the sorrel daughter of Fast Prize Dash for trainer Bruce B. Bell.
