Luis Vivanco rode longshot and eighth-fastest qualifier Beaus Famous to a three-quarter length win in Saturday's $182,500 EVD Derby at Evangeline Downs.

Prepped by Saul Ramirez Jr. for owner Francisco J. Garza, Beaus Famous went 400 yards in :19.673 while returning a $33 win mutuel as a 15-1 longshot. The One Famous Eagle gelding also earned $91,250 to push his bankroll to $106,450 from 11 starts in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas.

Beaus Famous was bred in Texas by his owner. The gelding is out of Beaukas, a winning homebred 13-year-old daughter of Make It Anywhere who ran third in the 2006 Retama Park (G1) and Manor Downs (G1) futurities.

Beaus Famous has won three of 11 outs, including two of four at Evangeline.

Eyesa Texan finished second and was followed officially by fastest qualifier Sizzlin Stewart, Jess A TR, 17-10 favorite Dash Quick Perry, Paint My Pilot, Famousist, Gianni Que, Apollitical Girl, and Fancy Mamacita.
