Corona Carmelita, an unraced 3-year-old daughter of Corona Cartel owned by Paragon Farms of Conroe, Texas, posted the fastest training race time on Wednesday at Remington Park.
Under a hand ride from jockey Edwuin Lujan and aided by a reported 9-mph tail wind, Corona Carmelita covered 250 yards in :13.055 while winning the first of 10 schooling race by a half of a length lengths. Trey Wood trains the filly.
Corona Carmelita's time missed by just .100 the Remington training race record set by HYO Inseperable in 2015. A half sister to stakes winner Gallant Mystic, the filly was bred in Texas by Julianna Hawn Holt and was a $90,000 purchase at the 2015 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
