Fastest qualifier Dashnunder Afullmoon, a brown daughter of Heza Fast Dash owned by Rogelio Marquez Jr., remained undefeated following her half-length win in Saturday's $705,495 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs.

Ridden by Eddie Sanchez for trainer Jose Sanchez, Dashnunder Afullmoon went 350 yards in :17.481 while racing against a reported 15-mph head wind. The $352,747 winner's share of the stakes-record purse increased the filly's earnings to $527,089.

Dashnunder Afullmoon was bred by D & S Racing LLC and was purchased by Marquez for $44,500 at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale. She has won all four of her outs, including the 330-yard, $322,000 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred fillies -- and she barely made the final of that race as she won the shake for the 10th-fastest qualifier's spot.

"She is a once-in-a-lifetime horse," said Marquez of Dashnunder Afullmoon. "To win the shake in the Lassie and win that final, and then be the fastest qualifier for this was beyond our dreams.

"Tonight the pressure was on her, and she handled it perfectly," he added. "This is a team effort with my dad. Everyone in Louisiana has welcomed us, and we will never forget this."

Marquez added that Dashnunder Afullmoon will be pointed to the $1-million LQHBA Futurity (RG1) at Evangeline Downs this fall.

"We will give her some time off," he said. "She has more than earned it."

You Drive I Fly finished second and was followed by Tf El Whiskey, Eye Am Sizzlin, Angiesprizedpatriot, Dashing Forthe Money, Tg Toy, Heza Kat, Fabulously Black, and Ttt Kas.
