LMG Racing Inc.'s Mojo Perry is the fastest qualifier to the April 2, $162,600 West Texas Derby (G3) at Sunland Park.

Racing in the third of five trials on Friday, Mojo Perry covered 400 yards in :19.644 while defeating seventh-fastest qualifier Dash Ta Desirio by 1 3/4 lengths. Salvador Martinez rode the sorrel daughter of Mr Jess Perry for trainer Chris Zamora.

Mojo Perry was bred in Texas by Jeffrey Lee Jones. A $30,000 buy at the 2015 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the filly has won three of 11 outs and has banked $71,797, and she was a finalist in three graded futurities last season, including the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1).
