Rushago Filly Tops Oklahoma Futurity Qualifiers

Ima China Rush leads the way Saturday at Remington Park.

Handling a muddy track with no problem, Sherry Gilmore's Ima China Rush won the second of 17 Oklahoma Futurity trials at Remington Park on Saturday. PHOTO: Dustin Orona

Sherry Gilmore's Ima China Rush, a homebred daughter of the Agouti stallion Rushago, is the fastest qualifier to the March 25, $525,050 Oklahoma Futurity (G3) at Remington Park.

Ridden by Larry Payne on a muddy track, Ima China Rush won the second of 17 300-yard trials on Saturday, as the filly defeated third-fastest qualifier Chasin My Desire by 1 1/4 lengths in :15.229. Guillermo Valdivia saddled Ima China Rush, who was making her career debut.

Pyc Fun N Fancy, the second-fastest qualifier, won the first heat by 1 1/4 lengths in :15.365 on a muddy track. Daniel Torres rode the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt for owner Jose Guzman and trainer Luz Chavira.
