Edited press release
In preparation for its May 26 opening, Ruidoso Downs Racetrack will conduct a total of 36 300-yard training races from May 8-10.
The training races will start every morning at 8:30 a.m. (MDT).
A Revenant, last year's champion 2-year-old colt and winner of the 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso, used the track's schooling races to prepare for his pari-mutuel debut. Ochoa, a two-time champion and winner of the 2011 All American Futurity (G1), also raced in that year's training races.
Ruidoso's training races are timed to prepare 2-year-olds for the 350-yard trials to the $1-million Ruidoso Futurity on May 26-27.
