The field has been set for the June 11, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs, the first leg of the track's All American Triple Crown.

Juan A. Medina's Eagle Jazz set the fastest overall qualifying time on Saturday, as the homebred son of One Dashing Eagle won the last of 13 350-yard trials by two lengths in :17.874. Rodrigo Vallejo rode the Oklahoma-bred gelding for trainer Judd Kearl.

Eagle Jazz has won three of four starts and has earned $178,049. He was making his first start since April 22, when he ran second, a head behind winner La Vencedora, in the 330-yard, $913,850 Remington Park Futurity (RG2) for Oklahoma-breds.

"He's a half brother to Teller Baja and just like her," said Kearl, referring to the filly who won last year's Remington Park Futurity. "He sleeps 23 hours a day, and you wouldn't know he's in the barn. He's also sound."

Terry and Irene Stennett's U R My Queen set the overall second-fastest qualifying time with her wire-to-wire victory in Saturday's 11th trial. Ridden by Ricky Ramirez for trainer Trey Wood, the California-bred Walk Thru Fire filly won by a neck in :17.922 while making her career debut.

U R My Queen was bred by Jaime Gomez and was a $57,000 purchase at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The filly is out of Thatsa Blazin Chick, a Chicks A Blazin mare who won the 2002 New Mexico State Fair Senorita Futurity (RG3) at Albuquerque Downs, and she is a half sister to stakes winners Buffalo Head and The Fire Fly.

"She doesn't do anything wrong and is a professional," Wood said of U R My Queen.
