Painted Wine Wagon Wins OHA Mystery Futurity

The filly gets her first stakes victory on Saturday.

Painted Wine Wagon led at every call in Saturday's Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity for state-bred juveniles at Will Rogers Downs.

Jimmy Dean Brooks rode third-fastest qualifier Painted Wine Wagon to a neck victory in the $196,892 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity (RG3) at Will Rogers Downs on Saturday.

Sent to post at odds of 5-1 in the full field of 10 state-bred 2-year-olds, Painted Wine Wagon went 350 yards in :17.587. Eddie Willis saddled the brown Pyc Paint Your Wagon filly for owner Larry L. Rice.

Painted Wine Wagon was coming off of a three-quarter length win in a Mystery Futurity trial on October 29, her first out in three months. The filly was bred by Flag Ranch LLC, and she has won three of seven starts and has banked $155,479. Her resume includes a fifth-place finish in the July 23, 400-yard Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Painted Wine Wagon is out of Mr Perrys Wine, a winning and stakes-placed daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry.

Fastest qualifier and 2-1 favorite PV Queen Bee Candy ran second and was followed by The Valiant One, Express Train No 9, Peves Candy Man Dan, Flashy Concho, Unconquerable, Ivory Trader, Audi Murphi, and Furrget Me Not.
