Field Set for Louisiana Million Futurity

Cruz E. Nava's Shesa Diamond Diva is the fastest qualifier to the December 16, $1-million Louisiana Million Futurity (RG1) for state-bred 2-year-olds at Evangeline Downs.

Ridden by Eddie Sanchez for trainer Saul Ramirez Jr., Shesa Diamond Diva on Friday won the eighth of 15 400-yard trials by three-quarters of a length in :19.743. The multiple stakes-placed daughter of Struttin To Beduino was winning for the third time in six starts and pushing her hearings to $51,021.

Shesa Diamond Diva was bred by Paul C. Fontenot Jr., and her resume includes a fourth-place finish in the 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs in March.

Second-fastest qualifier Diamondinthefront is a homebred Game Patriot filly trained by Frank Cavazos for the F & K Partnership. Ridden by Randy Edison, Diamondinthefront won the 11th heat by 2 3/4 lengths in :19.745.
