JRS Taylors Runnaway, a 28-1 longshot and the eighth-fastest qualifier, sprinted to a wire-to-wire victory in Saturday's $297,220 Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

Trained by Martin Trejo for owner Rosalio Espinosa, JRS Taylors Runnaway covered 350 yards in :17.464 against a reported 15-mph head wind. David Alvarez rode the sorrel son of Sir Runaway Dash.

JRS Taylors Runnaway was bred by Julien R. Stevens III. The gelding is out of No Matches Tonight, an unraced 16-year-old daughter of Royal Shake Em.

JRS Taylors Runnaway has won three of five races, and the $118,889 winner's share of the purse from the gelding's first stakes score pushed his bankroll to $132,389.

Second Down Leaving, the fastest qualifier and 4-5 favorite, finished second, a head behind the winner to complete a $2 exacta payoff of $148.20.

Yumyumcomegetyousome, Jrs Natural Runaway, Fabulously Black, Eye Wanna Go Fast, Shez Dead Serious, Storm T and TF El Whiskey completed the order of finish. Third-fastest qualifier Jess Political was scratched.
