Ricardo A. Morales' Memories R Golden is the fastest Remington Park Futurity (RG2) qualifier from the first of two nights of trials.

Ridden by Edwuin Lujan for trainer Manuel Almanza Jr., Memories R Golden on Friday won the ninth of 11 330-yard trials by three-quarters of a length in :16.447 while aided by a reported 21-mph tail wind. The Fantastic Corona Jr filly was winning for the second time in as many outs.

Memories R Golden was bred by Thomas Bradbury and Vaughn Cook, and she was a $10,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly's dam, the First Down Dash mare Tiny First Down, won the 2000 Southern California Derby (G1) at Los Alamitos and was the runner-up in the '99 Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Trials continue on Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. (CDT).
