Field Set for $347,400 Remington Park Derby

Political Attraction sets the fastest qualifying time for the April 21 final.

Political Attraction is the fastest qualifier to the April 21, $347,400 Remington Park Derby (RG3) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds.

Racing in the last of six 400-yard trials on Sunday, Political Attraction defeated sixth-fastest qualifier Olivias Jett by 1 3/4 lengths in :19.714. James Flores rode the gelded son of Apollitical Jess for owners Rogelio Marquez Jr. and Kathy Robinson and trainer Amanda Tongay.

Political Attraction was bred by Ron Lyles. A $10,000 purchase at the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the gelding has won five of eight starts and has earned $281,801, and his two graded stakes wins include last year's Speedhorse Futuriy (G3) at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.
