Fastest qualifier Suze Returns, a sorrel daughter of High Rate Of Return racing for Joe M. Rios, was a prompt 2-1 favorite in Saturday's $269,528 West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park.

Ridden by Jaime Leos for trainer Juan M. Gonzalez, Suze Returns covered 300 yards in :15.147, and her winning margin was a neck from 10-1 longshot and ninth-fastest qualifier All Sophia Wanted. The filly earned a 95 speed index and the $126,678 winner's share of the purse from her second win in as many outs.

Suze Returns was bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC, and she made her debut with a clear 2 1/4-length victory in the fifth of 10 trials on March 23. Rios acquired Suze Returns for $13,000 at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City. The filly is out of Brown Eye Suze, a winning 13-year-old daughter of Mr Eye Opener who ran second in the 2009 Buttons and Bows Stakes (G3) at Albuquerque Downs and was a finalist in the '07 West Texas Futurity (G1).

Suze Returns has won both of her outs and has banked $132,018.

Eagle Coast finished third, a half of a length behind Suze Returns. Ms Talks Alot, Steamin Eagle, JMF Dasher, Little Party Wagon, Sweet Temptation, and Lethal Lil completed the order of finish. Sixth-fastest qualifier Jess Like Fire was scratched.
