Following is a recap of all official American Quarter Horse stakes for the week of August 4-5. This page will be updated throughout the week.

Ajax Downs
Two 330-yard trials on Sunday determined the field for the August 26, $55,000-est. Ontario Sires Futurity (R).

Carlos The Second, the fastest qualifier, won the first heat by one length in :17.420. Ed Walton rode the homebred Winners Award gelding for owner Heste Sport Inc. and trainer Jason Pascoe.

Carlos The Second was winning for the first time in two starts. The gelding is out of Chitchatin Okie, a winning and stakes-placed daughter of champion Okey Dokey Dale.

Oneida County Fair
Don Knopp's DK First Frost on Saturday posted the fastest qualifying time to the August 12, $25,000-est. Oneida County Fair Futurity.

Prepped by Jarrett Mills, DK First Frost won the last of six 300-yard trials by a half of a length in :15.345. Raymundo Torres rode the homebred daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Coronado Cartel.

DK First Frost was bred in Idaho. The filly is out of A Special First, a stakes-winning daughter of Real Runaway, and she has earned $3,085 from five outs, all in Idaho.

Retama Park
Sent to post at odds of 12-1, Gustavo Canales' Cartel M broke her maiden with a neck victory in Saturday's $38,853 TQHA Sales Futurity Juvenile Stakes (R).

Cartel M covered 350 yards in :18.135 while racing against a reported 18-mph head wind. Juan Garcia Jr. rode the brown daughter of The Louisiana Cartel for trainer Pedro Lopez.

Cartel M was bred in Texas by Eduardo Galindo. The filly has earned $17,844 from five starts, all in Texas.

Louisiana Hit Man, the 8-5 favorite in the field of six, finished second and was followed by The Dealers On Fire, Gone Regardless, Our Mr TD, and Mosco Fly With Me.

Wyoming Downs
Melody A. Olsen's Femme Fatalia is the fastest qualifier to the August 19, $25,000-est. Wyoming Downs Futurity.

Ridden by Cordarelton Benn for trainer Glade Van Tassell, Femme Fatalia on Saturday won the first of five 350-yard trials by one length in :17.660. The daughter of Favorite Cartel was coming off of a second-place finish in the $96,000 Beehive Futurity (R) at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.

Femme Fatalia was bred in California by Dr. Steve Burns and was a $13,000 yearling purchase at last year's Los Alamitos Equine Sale.
