Mpshinning won Sunday's 350-yard, $154,300 Gillespie County Fair Futurity.

Sent to post as the 2-1 favorite in a field of nine 2-year-olds, Larry J. Boudreaux's Mpshinning sprinted to a neck victory in Sunday's $154,300 Gillespie County Fair Futurity at Fredericksburg, Texas.

Mpshinning covered 350 yards in :17.426 and recorded a 106 speed index while racing against a reported 10-mph head wind. Luis Vivanco rode the Mr Piloto colt for trainer Adrian Huitron.

Mpshinning was bred in Louisiana by Jon and Donna McPherson, and he was a $27,000 purchase at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale. The colt is out of Shinningperrydash, an unraced 8-year-old daughter of First To Shine. His second dam, the winning Mr Jess Perry mare Perrys Splash N Dash, ran second in the 2004 North Dakota Horse Park Futurity.

Mpshinning has won three of four starts, including his Gillespie County Fair Futurity trial on August 11. The fastest qualifier, he banked the $54,005 winner's share of the purse from his first stakes victory to boost his earnings to $70,205.

Dees Jetting Diva ran second and was followed by Zooming Perry, Moons First Cd, Shapeshifter, Jet Black King, Enid Girl, Shot Of Pyc, and All Sophia Wanted. Gallo was scratched.
