Guerra Racing Stables' Foolish Outlaw, an Oklahoma-bred son of Jesse James Jr trained by Wes Giles, overcame a hop at the start to post the fastest training-race time at Remington Park on Thursday.

Ridden by Ricky Ramirez into a reported 19-mph head wind, Foolish Outlaw won the fifth of 12 250-yard schooling races by one length in :13.87.

Foolish Outlaw is out of Chain Of Fools, a 13-year-old daughter of Dash Ta Fame. The colt was a $14,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

The next training races at Remington Park are scheduled for February 21. The track opens its 50-date American Quarter Horse season on March 9.
