RC Racing LLC's A Passion For Flashn made his sophomore debut with a one-length victory in Sunday's $85,000 New Mexico Horse Breeders' Association Stakes (RG2) for state-bred 3-year-olds at Sunland Park.

Prepped by Martin Orona Sr. and ridden by Jose Enriquez, A Passion For Flashn covered 400 yards in :19.990 on a track officially labeled "slow." The son of champion First Moonflash was making his first start since December 31, when he ran fourth, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner Despain GL, in the 400-yard, $200,000 Sunland Park Juvenile Championship.

A Passion For Flashn was bred by JMH Racing LLC, and he is out of Subtly Sixy, a winning 9-year-old daughter of Streakin Sixes. Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, the colt has won five of 11 outs, including last year's 400-yard, $300,000 New Mexico Cup Futurity (RG2) at Zia Park, and the $51,000 winner's share of the purse from his second career stakes score pushed his bankroll to $274,596.

A Passion For Flashn was sent to post as the 4-1 third choice in the full field of 10 and returned a $10 win mutuel.

Siximoons finished second and was followed by Daddys Blushing, Cadilac Flash, Moneys A Maker, He Be Flashy, 2-1 favorite Everybuddys Talkin, Regard The Rose, Jessies Gone, and Jessa Diva.
